Regarding S2 OR Pioneer DDJ SR, I believe your words when you Say they are equivalent, but prices don't Say this at All. The only comment I'll make on this is that the TP/S2 is equivalent to SDJ/DDJ-SR (not the DDJ-SB).Yeah that's why I prefer going to S2 instead of X1+Z1, as I suppose that S2 It Is a bigger controller, maybe more "simple" since you Can easily see and setup things under your hands. Go with the friendlier one and get the associated controller. One will be friendlier to you than the other. Watch some videos on Traktor Pro and Serato DJ. It's not rocket science, but things aren't where you expect them so "thinking about how to do it before you do it" is a factor. It presumes experience and the ability to adapt. It is not a friendly setup that most can just jump on and be productive. As someone who is still using the original S4, I think that the S2 is really all you need. Traktor DJ 1.0 Traktor Kontrol S8 1.1 Traktor Kontrol S4 MK2 1. JUMP TO: 0.1 The Software: Traktor Pro vs. It just doesn't have the latest bells and whistles. If youd like to know more about DJ setups in general, also checkout our Beginners Guide To DJ Setups. Everything for using Traktor on a computer is supported. If you want to save some money, look to previous versions (like the original S2). A better solution might be to use one of the other controllers (S2, S4, S5, or S8) since they have both decks and the mixer as part of the controller. So I suppose the specific answer to your question is "yes", you can technically mix on the Z1 - but without the X1, you might be a little frustrated switching between the keyboard/mouse and the Z1. If you add the X1 - which is the controller for the two decks - a DJ could control Traktor without using the keyboard or mouse. Mixing the tracks would be handled on the Z1. By using Traktor and just a Z1, a DJ could mix - but s/he would have to use a mouse with the laptop to play the actual tracks. The Z1 provides outputs and knobs and buttons for the mixer portion of a setup. The Z1 and X1 are a minimalist take in that they're designed for mobile iOS devices as well as computers. The S5 and S8 have a modern take on the traditional approach. The S2 and S4 are traditional approaches. In the Traktor world, there are many different controllers explicitly designed for Traktor. To address both of those things, controllers can provide knobs and buttons as well as multiple outputs. Unfortunately using a keyboard and mouse aren't the friendliest way to work. In the Tracktor world, Traktor itself performs the role of all three: two (or four) sound sources and mixer. The mixer can mix the two sources as well as route the mix and/or either source to headphones. Most setups have two independent music sources and a mixer. If not, what would you suggest me without spending lots of Money? In other words, product ranked #1 carries a lot more weight than product ranked #6 product ranked #6 carries slightly more weight than product ranked #8.I noticed the Z1, Who allows me to easily mix, but I was wondering : what about the pre-listening? Is It possible to pre-listen deck 2 while deck 1 Is playing, so to decide where to start, or making a cue in a specific part ext? Then the point value of every endorsement is adjusted by a geometric progression with common ratio slightly below 1. Being included in top 3 also carries bonus points.
